Marvel Studios has officially released the trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, giving fans a first glimpse of Julia Garner as the Silver Surfer. The film hits theaters on July 25, 2025, and introduces the iconic superhero team with a bold, retro twist.
A Retro Reboot of Marvel’s First Family
Set in a 1960s-inspired retrofuturistic world, First Steps reimagines the Fantastic Four for a new generation. The cast features:
- Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards / Mister Fantastic
- Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm / Invisible Woman
- Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm / Human Torch
- Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm / The Thing
This time, the team must stop Galactus, a planet-consuming cosmic entity played by Ralph Ineson. Alongside him is his mysterious Herald, the Silver Surfer, portrayed by Julia Garner.
The film is directed by Matt Shakman (WandaVision) and produced by Kevin Feige.
Julia Garner’s Silver Surfer Takes Flight
Although CinemaCon attendees saw an early teaser, this trailer marks the public debut of the Silver Surfer in the MCU. Julia Garner’s casting drew major attention, and the trailer’s slick visuals and eerie atmosphere have only intensified the hype.
