Katy Perry took her dreams to new heights—literally—by joining an all-female crew aboard Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin rocket on April 14. The pop icon experienced a few minutes of weightlessness during the brief 10-minute suborbital flight, reaching about 62 miles above Earth.
A Spaceflight to Remember
Wearing a custom blue space suit, Perry floated inside the capsule with fellow crew members: CBS Mornings co-host Gayle King, Blue Origin pilot and Bezos fiancée Lauren Sánchez, astronaut and bioastronautics expert Amanda Nguyen, NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, and filmmaker Kerianne Flynn.
The women shared laughs and excitement while floating in zero gravity. In a video posted to Perry’s social media the following day, the group cheered and held up personal items they brought into space.
Perry, 40, revealed a single daisy in honor of her daughter, Daisy Dove, with actor Orlando Bloom. The four-year-old attended the launch in her own silver space suit, smiling proudly while exclaiming, “My mama!”
A Glimpse at the Lifetimes Tour Setlist
Perry didn’t just bring flowers—she also floated a butterfly-shaped paper into view, claiming it held the setlist for her upcoming Lifetimes World Tour. While the text was too small to read clearly, sharp-eyed fans spotted titles like:
- “Chained to the Rhythm”
- “Teary Eyes”
- “Dark Horse”
- “Harleys in Hawaii”
- “OK”
- “I Kissed a Girl”
- “Last Friday Night”
- “Teenage Dream”
The teaser clip played alongside her 2024 track “Wonder,” setting the tone for her tour, which kicks off in Mexico City on April 23.
Emotional Reflections From Orbit
As the crew prepared for reentry, Perry softly sang “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong. Once back on Earth, she kissed the ground and spoke with emotion:
“I feel super connected to love. This journey showed me how much love we hold inside and how deeply we are loved.”
Reflecting further, she called the flight “the highest high,” adding:
“It’s about surrender, trust, and teamwork. This wasn’t just about going to space—it was the entire process. I’d recommend it to anyone.”
Rating the trip, Perry said it was a “10 out of 10,” second only to becoming a mother.
